Yesterday, EPIC submitted comments to CalPrivacy advising the agency on best practices for its data broker auditing process. Independent testing and inspection requirements, including additional audit requirements for those using AI systems, would ensure effective audits.

CalPrivacy took enforcement action against 2 data brokers. One is a marketing firm that sold lists of people w/ Alzheimer’s disease & sensitive health conditions. In addition to the fine, the data broker will stop selling Californians’ personal information. https//cppa.ca.gov...
