I have a graph from a working paper I can send that looks at that public 911 data and shows that after BCR launched, they took more beh health calls than MPD. But MPD still kept responding to same # of person in crisis. My guess is the share of calls coded as beh health by 911 calltakers went up.

It’s not too much of a stretch to suggest that many of the techbros and politicians who would push for emergency calltakers to be replaced by “AI” would actually side with the abuser anyway.
Upon answer, the caller calmly began ordering a pizza. Large, pepperoni. Side order of chicken wings. To be delivered promptly.

Of course, I also have the perspective of being pissed off at people who want to get an Internet Boner by repeatedly calling a dispatch center and screaming obscenities at calltakers like that's actually going to accomplish something other than delaying response to real emergencies

For those who didn't know, this is national EMS week, in the US at least. If you get the chance, thank a paramedic and/or EMT for the difficult, frequently dangerous, and almost-always-thankless work they do. And that goes for the EMS dispatchers and calltakers too. Their work is just as important.

Okay look if you're at a gathering and there's a medical emergency, only ONE PERSON needs to call 911
We just had FOUR people call at the same time, all on speaker, so all we could hear was echoes of the callers and calltakers and it was super not helpful

If you've heard the booms from Gatewood, Upper Fauntleroy, Westwood, etc., those are fireworks, not gunshots. We've heard them all, and police in the area have seen them. We're just mentioning it because we've gotten a few texts and dispatchers/calltakers say they're getting deluged.
