CalyxOS posted an announcement about the departure of both the founder of the organization (Nicolas Merrill) and lead developer of CalyxOS (Chirayu Desai):

According to their post, it will likely be around 4 to 6 months before they resume updates with new signing keys.

Nicolas Merrill took advantage of the situation. He hired a Copperhead employee involved in the takeover to create CalyxOS. CalyxOS heavily used our code and documentation. It was promoted by attacking us and portraying themselves as being above the situation with Copperhead.

On my side, only bank I could not make work with CalyxOS was N26. The rest (Revolut, Caisse d'Epargne, ...) works fine.

This article has very inaccurate information about GrapheneOS. GrapheneOS substantially improves both privacy and security. It has far more review than OEM Android forks. This draws a false equivalence between GrapheneOS and CalyxOS/LineageOS which do roll back security vs. AOSP.

GrapheneOS and CalyxOS are very different. GrapheneOS is a hardened OS with major privacy/security improvements:
grapheneos.org/features
CalyxOS is not hardened. It greatly reduces security vs. AOSP with attack surface, a weakened security model and slow patches. It's missing current patches.

CalyxOS has much worse app compatibility than GrapheneOS and was never a privacy or security hardened OS. CalyxOS never kept up with privacy/security patches and never provided the major privacy and security improvements of GrapheneOS. Nearly all Android apps can be used on GrapheneOS already.
