From 2013 to 2018, there were 75 known outbreaks linked specifically to consumption of unpasteurized milk products, which resulted in 675 illnesses, 98 hospitalizations, and two deaths. Campylobacter was responsible for the most outbreaks (49%), followed by Salmonella (17%) and STEC (15%).

In 2019, Campylobacter species, Clostridium perfringens, Listeria monocytogenes, norovirus, nontyphoidal Salmonella species, and Shiga toxin–producing E coli (STEC) caused an estimated 9.9 million US foodborne illnesses =>~53,000 hospitalizations & nearly 900 deaths.

New research to settle your stomach...

Reading scientists have discovered violet-blue light killed every Campylobacter strain they tested from UK poultry.

That's 64 strains of food poisoning bacteria & one blue light treatment.

Could it help make chicken safer?

Campylobacter, satılan tüm çiğ tavuk eti ürünlerinin yaklaşık dörtte üçünde bulunur.

Türleri veya antibiyotik direnç profilleri ne olursa olsun, tüm suşlar bu işlemle yok edildi.

That's a question for them I'm afraid - my expertise is the light, not the biology. They've only discussed campylobacter, presumably as it's a surface contamination that mostly works through cross infection.

Right then.

B) they use narrowband blue LEDs at 405 nm, so visible. And if you want to read the most Reviewer 2 question ever, they address whether leaving raw chicken in the sun would have the same effect
