Even if the tariffs don't happen tomorrow, the US has started a wave of Canadian awareness that means we will find alternatives to US products and services.
We have a longer memory than they expect, and we know how to hold a grudge.

So the Orange Powder Puff (trump) has decided tariffs are coming tomorrow no matter what. I say its time to meet his import tariffs with EXPORT TARIFFS of our own. Wants only 10% on oil, well we need to tack on the other 15% export tariff to keep him honest. #CanadiansForCanada #SorryNotSorry

Things need to change folks and we all need to start taking a hell of a lot more accountability in the soil that we call home. This land that we all claim to love and wanna keep it sovereignty. We need to come together to stop it from burning.

Proposal: National Civilian Wildfire Response Corps (NCWRC) Executive Summary Canada, the second largest country in the world, is experiencing devastating wildfire seasons that threaten not only communities but also our most vital natural resources. Yet, despite our size, Canada must begin thinking like a small community again — where everyone has a role in protecting shared land. This proposal calls for the creation of a National Civilian Wildfire Response Corps, training, and equipping Canadians to serve as a resource themselves. By recognizing that our people are our strongest asset, we can build a volunteer-based national firefighting reserve that protects both lives and land, ensuring Canada remains resilient in the face of climate change. 1. Purpose and Rationale • Wildfires are intensifying, destroying forests, homes, and wildlife habitats at an unprecedented scale. • Canada's vast geography makes professional firefighting resources too limited and too distant to cover every emergency. • Like in a small town, we must rely on community members themselves to step forward and protect what is shared. • Canadians need to see themselves not just as bystanders but as the resource Canada must mobilize. • The more people trained in wildfire defence, the more resilient and self-sufficient our nation becomes. 2. Program Structure 2.1 National Civilian Wildfire Response Corps (NCWRC) • Federally legislated, jointly funded by federal and provincial governments. • Open to eligible Canadians (ages 18-60) who meet physical and health standards. • Volunteer-based but compensated: wages, housing, food, and transportation fully covered during deployment. 2.2 Deployment Model Volunteers remain in their everyday jobs until mobilized. Protected status ensures: • Job security guaranteed like military reservists). • Wages federally covered while deployed. • Deployment coordinated nationally, with volunteers able to move across regions when needed. 2.3 Canada as a Small Community • J… 3. Training 3.1 Initial Training 4 6 weeks of standardized wildfire training. Topics: wildfire behavior, suppression tactics, controlled burn strategy, equipment handling, evacuation protocols, and first aid. 3.2 Ongoing Training - Quarterly Sessions • Four mandatory training refreshers per year, keeping readiness high Exercises mirror professional firefighter drills: Field training with live fire scenarios. Equipment and safety refreshers. Cross-regional simulations of large-scale emergencies. • Physical fitness maintenance. • Ensures that when the call comes, volunteers are trained like professionals, not casual helpers. 4. Volunteer Protections imployment Security: Job positions legally protected during servi Income Protection: Federal wage replaceme • Health & Safety Coverage: Full medical, life, and disability insurance Mental Health Support: Access to counselling, decompression leave after deployments 5. Federal & Provincial Responsibilities : Fornia Come Co. Trading atretari, gration nio l re cominand, local deployments 6. Funding Model • Joint Federal-Provincial Fund supported by: • Disaster readiness budgets. • Climate adaptation funds. • Federal emergency reserves. • Investment in prevention reduces long-term costs of destruction, rebuilding, and disaster relief. 7. Implementation Roadmap Phase 1 (Year 1-2) • Pilot in wildfire-prone provinces (BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec). Recruit first 5,000 civilian volunteers. • Pass legislation for employment and wage protection. Phase 2 (Year 3-5) • Expand nationwide to 20,000+ volunteers. • Create cross-country rapid response networks. Phase 3 (Year 5+) Permanent integration into Canada's emergency management system. Broaden mandate to include floods, storms, and climate emergencies.
