"Joining the battle between cancers and HPV vaccine on the side of cancers" is a wild and surprisingly too common take these days
November 3, 2026 at 1:53 PM
The cancer argument is also stupid as fuck when it's almost certainly referring to HPV-related cancers.

You know, a thing we have a vaccine for.

50% des cancers sont évitables.
Mais rien de tel qu’une bonne cigarette pour se détendre après un long combat contre le cancer.

My screen name is based off a protein expressed in cancers.

I work in breast cancer. My field is DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In-Situ) and the tumor microenvironment.

Since Trump took office in 2025 I felt motivated to get into educating people about science.

I am also an immunofluorescence nerd. 🧪

George Santos invented Wyoming after he created a cure for all cancers. Why shouldn't he allowed to run in drag?

The HPV vaccine almost entirely eliminates cancers due to the HPV virus…that’s not just cervical cancers in women but throat cancers in both sexes (oral sex) & anal cancers ( in predominantly homosexual men but also some women)-FFS get your teenagers vaccinated before they are at risk

I say “machine learning” rather than “AI” because…

There will be very useful real world applications of this technology - spotting cancers in MRI scans is already a thing - but a lot of the recent hype is just that, just like the late nineties

Insurance dictated healthcare is the bane of technology.

But the problem with some cancers is, we need to look for a mass/lump to find it, because it is self contained. If you find cancer indicators in the blood stream, its because it is spreading.

I'm good thanks, it's a chronic blood cancer but it's not massively life-shortening so as cancers go I got lucky... :/

So sad. 💔

Hate strokes. Hate cancers.
Love all our neighbors.

EBV at least also causes cancers, and causes or contributes to MS.

AI can cure cancers and fight climate change but we use it as surveillance and crimes 🙄🙄

Many of the men who excavated the shafts for CANNIKIN and two earlier underground nuclear tests—LONG SHOT, on October 29, 1965, and MILROW on October 2, 1969—or did other work on Amchitka, sometimes years later, have suffered and/or died from cancers they blame on radiation released by the tests.
Why a bomb test in the Aleutians still strikes fear in workers 46 years later
Veterans of the 1971 Amchitka blast gather to remember those who have died of radiation-related cancers and others who struggled for compensation.

aids as a disease was discovered through epidemiological studies of cancers and opportunistic infections??? the cell scale studies that proved there was a lymphotropic virus as a causative agent came about 2 years later.

We are now on Day 5 of the Breast Cancer Now chuggers on the corner of my street. They are unavoidable.

I emailed the charity to say the game show approach of asking passers-by to guess the survival rate for breast cancer was not helpful for those with cancers with poor survival rates.
Okay, so I don’t want to pitch different cancers against each other, but… There’s a breast cancer campaign thing that I’ve now encountered twice. Once was on my way back from my initial consultation with my surgeon, the one where I discovered my big op wouldn’t cure me, just buy me time…
November 7, 2026 at 12:58 PM
I didn’t get why he did that shit. It’s because of research that we have had better treatments for diseases, better ways to detect early cancers, detection if a person carries a gene for cancers ..on & on.

Sitting here with my checklist of these hard to diagnose cancers that run in the family like YIPPEE hopefully this becomes generally available.
