#Catastrophizing
At this point it's not catastrophizing, it's paying attention.

let the catastrophizing begin!
there’s no point in catastrophizing about a decision we haven’t even gotten yet, but it really cannot be overstated enough just how bad the worst case scenario is with birthright citizenship is. like “any mere semblance of self-governance is over” is one of the plausible outcomes

Catastrophizing about cop brutality, catastrophizing about inflation, now an actual catastrophe is here & it's all excuses. I just don't get some people.
Last I checked zero protesters were killed when cops broke up the pro-Palestinian protest camps. Something like a couple dozen died in all of 2020, during massive protests. But these people like to think of protests as something violent & terrible because it makes them feel more consequential
will americans bravely take to the streets like their south korean counterparts? we'll have to see. anyway peep the number of likes on this tweet

Ask your doctor if catastrophizing is right for you
a lot of you should talk to a therapist about catastrophizing.

Accuse me of catastrophizing, but "‘We want to take over" is about as clear a warning as you will ever get.

Folks, catastrophizing about Trump nuking Iran is counterproductive. Especially since it's extremely unlikely.

So, so instructive to compare media response to Afghanistan withdrawal -- months of hysterical garment-rending & catastrophizing, relentless criticism of the admin -- with the response to an unprovoked, unmotivated, illegal war of aggression, ie, "some critics say maybe Trump should have reasons."
Press gave Biden far worse coverage for a small number of American soldiers dying while leaving a war than to Trump for a similar number dying while starting a war for no reason. It makes you think!

I know things look bad right now, but I think catastrophizing is unhelpful, and I think catastrophizing from people with money and resources is downright in bad taste. choose what you are going to do to help your people survive this, and do it.

I'm not catastrophizing. I've just survived the past decade and speak from experience

Everyone should read this. And anyone who is non stop hysterical posting/catastrophizing online should read it twice
Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.
