Near Henichesk, after repeated strikes and destroyed pontoon crossings, Russian forces switched to building dirt causeways. Time will tell if that idea actually works. #osint

80 years ago today on the 12th May 1945 the Churchill Barriers were officially opened in #Orkney.
The four causeways were built in response to the sinking of the Royal Oak in Scapa Flow in 1939; their legacy became the permanent linking of 4 islands to the Orkney mainland.

Rehearsing complete- a bit of relaxing in the sun - picked up our merch girl Tina then on the ferry back to Denmark, now driving South through Sealand in Denmark, crossing causeways to get the ferry from Rodbyhavn to Puttgarden in Germany.
