Dogshit fender line, chainstay/seatstay clamp kickstand, AND you drank Grant's Kool aid.

Only the Bollocks yellow Bullitt has Larry 💗 Harry instead of Larry vs. Harry on the chainstay.

Crimped seat or chainstay failure is possible.

This is upsetting me so much

Glory be to the headset, to the chainstay, and to the greasy drivetrain. Thy bike lane come, thy miles done, on hills as they are on valleys. Amen.

Also not my strong suit but I want to indulge in this mystery. Is the reaction arm for the roller brake bolted to the chainstay?

saw ben quad, macseal, aren’t we amphibians, and chainstay last night! crazy good show, the crowd had great energy

Firecrest rims were too wide for the chainstay at the BB

Aw no.

My first proper road bike was a '85-'87 Raleigh Equipe I got for £40 that I adapted to bullhorn fixed gear after the friction lever derailleurs failed after a few hundred km, and then had to get rid of after the rear chainstay of the frame ripped itself apart a few thousand km later.

Chainstay/Yoke/dropout assembly is fully welded. #framebuilding

mainstay or chainstay?
March 22, 2025 at 12:48 AM
Sod it - decided to be optimistic about the likelihood of my bike frame being fixable, and ordered new decals, and a new chainstay protector.
I should hopefully receive the paint needed to respray it within this week - wait until you see the colour I'm going for!
Project Rebuild will soon begin!

I have a kickstand on one of my bikes. The bike has a kickstand mounting plate welded to the chain stays.

Alternatively, you can clamp a kickstand to the non-drive side chainstay, but you must be careful not to crush the chainstay during installation. You also need to watch the weight on the bike.

I endorse this wholeheartedly.

Charlie the Bikemonger always had a nice line in them.

Note the spare-spoke carrier on the chainstay.
Bike wheels used to a lot less reliable than they are today.

(guy who can't catch a break voice) so another one of my bike frames is developing a crack

Local CX races are so rare now that they feel like they have higher stakes, and super sticky mud forecast tomorrow has me frantically setting up big clearance/small tire combos (our conditions rarely dictate a “mud bike” setup). Of course, what if it dries out and this is all for nothing?

Can stuck in the chainstay or wedged in the back of the forks.

Or a playing card taped/pegged to the chainstay.

I preferred the card noise tbh.

Explaining what's wrong with my bike to my non bicycle coworkers is funny. "My bottom bracket got a little worn which caused my drive side crank to hit the chainstay" as if that means anything to anyone
