I'm probably not gonna do all of these, but every october has a bunch of these art challenges. Honesly i just wanted an excuse to draw something silly.
For the one i found, the first prompt is "Changling" and i'm a freaking nerd ;)

Horror - "You Weren't Meant to be Human" is a A LOT (positive)
"Into the Drowning Deep" has EXCELLENT horror mermaids.
If you're down for a series, I absolutely love the October Daye books (Urban fantasy, changling private eye) and the Wayward Children novellas by the same author are VERY fun

Horror - "You Weren't Meant to be Human" is a A LOT (positive)
"Into the Drowning Deep" has EXCELLENT horror mermaids.
If you're down for a series, I absolutely love the October Daye books (Urban fantasy, changling private eye) and the Wayward Children novellas by the same author are VERY fun

I very much prefer goblins to be a monstrous species over a civilized species and i felt the best way to do that is to focus more on they're English and Scottish folklore and fuse that with the fairy changling to make them a justifiably hated creature.

Picard was such a weird series. Like 1 and 2 are so narratively disjointed from the third season that the stories they told and the characters they featured might not have well existed. (Which is fine, because the writing and characters were trash) but the weird changling + borg plot in the 3rd?

My mother threw a shoe after us if we had eg important exam for luck. I found out it had been traditional way of preventing fairies stealing a baby/substituting changling. Fairies & kelpies? Selkies?Beware..
