#CherryPicked
Okay the conservative argument on abortion and birth control being bad for women is based on bunk cherrypicked science, and the link between vaccines and autism is based on bunk cherrypicked science, and the anti COVID vaccine stuff is based on bunk cherrypicked science. But this one is legit!
many ppl highlighting flaws in this article. but having fought in the "80% desistance" wars of the mid-2010s, I remember asking anti-trans activists if they'd be ok if 80% of youth were helped by gender-affirming care (flipping their argument). & they *never* answered. b/c they want *zero* trans ppl

Vought gets a little salty after Dana Bash plays the clip of him saying that he wants federal bureaucrats to be "in trauma," telling her "you cherrypicked the quote" (she literally just played the clip)

one of the most insane aspects of all of this is that "a wide ranging government crackddown after a handful of newspaper cranks said insane things based on misunderstood cherrypicked papers" is considered illegitimate in every field of endeavor except this one
Right now where you live healthcare for trans kids is either being made literally illegal by your state or made functionally illegal by the unlawful threats of the federal government and a care infrastructure glad to sacrifice trans kids on the altar of appeasement.

Families left reeling after hospitals in blue states drop transgender care for youth
Massachusetts passed laws and joined lawsuits to protect access to gender-affirming care for minors. But faced with the Trump administration's threats, some hospitals voluntarily stopped care.

Sora is a paper machete. It is low-quality, impossible to make consistent or reliable, while also being incredibly expensive to run. Every single “good” video you’ve seen is cherrypicked from dozens of terrible ones to make you feel scared that this can create entire movies’ worth of content.
Curious to hear your perspective on Sora. It seems to be the only real (and terrifying) AI product to hit the market lately. How much mileage are they going to get out of this thing that needs to be regulated out of existence?

WELKER: What do you say to companies like John Deere who say these tariffs are hurting them?

BESSENT: If you're quoting the New York Times, that's not a fair observer

WELKER: These are statistics. This is about John Deere, not the NYT

BESSENT: That's one company they have cherrypicked

I read Helen's article, and surprise surprise, it was cherrypicked axe grinding full of half truths.
200+ articles were not enough. Arday is dead, yet the scrutiny continues, now extending to his memoir. The people who rage about “cancel culture” seem remarkably comfortable with it when the target is a Black academic.

Gravity is a mere suggestion. Laws are too lame for Volt.

Throughout the interview, you can see how Poilievre has deceptive but effective stories and cherrypicked stats that serve his agenda.

He’ll fabricate a narrative that government spending is what’s driving up home prices, to distract from developer and speculator profiteering.

You just cherrypicked.
He was also assassinated.

And also all the "kids don't get bad COVID" stuff really seemed to be based on bullshit cherrypicked data

@fiercemum.bsky.social’s CURRENT research, consistently supports transition for trans kids. Meanwhile our NHS announces one tiny study informed by data from 1950,66,68 & 81 that informs their belief that transitioning’s a safeguarding risk. The manufacture of hateful cherrypicked evidence continues.

It all smells. Bondi is good at hiding stuff and redacting. Miami Herald did a good job of trying to show everything but Bondi. cherrypicked for the jury.

“Breakthrough.”

I haven’t seen the announcement yet. Is the breakthrough that they cherrypicked a couple of studies that confirm their preexisting beliefs?
Think I’m going to get a lot of use out of this.

like i say it's p-hacked, and it is, but it's more accurate to say that they took the surveymonkey moe calculator webpage and applied it to bad + cherrypicked data with a bad instrument and bravely declared 'you can just do things', but it's not as fun without the explanation.
