On 30 August 2018: J.R.R. #Tolkien's The Fall of Gondolin was published. Edited by Christopher Tolkien, it's the tale of the elven city of Gondolin and its destruction, over 6,500 years before The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien called it "the first real story of this imaginary world".

Il y a 6 ans, Christopher Tolkien nous quittait, au terme d'une vie dédiée à l'œuvre de son père, dont il était l'exécuteur littéraire. C'est grâce à lui que le Silmarillion, les Contes et Légendes Inachevés, la Chute de Gondolin, Les Enfants de Húrin et autres Beren et Lúthien ont pu être publiés.

Sadly, 5 years ago today: we lost Christopher #Tolkien at the age of 95. He edited around two-dozen books of his father's works, and brought us much of what we now know about Middle-earth, for which we are all incredibly grateful. He is missed. Namárië.

Such an honor to hear from artist Alan Lee! Alan recalled that Christopher asked him to keep the characters limited in size focusing more on the landscapes- the places they were passing through. That seems to fit perfectly with Tolkien’s love of the nature world.
