A gentle breeze. The large leaves of the Chusan palm make occasional, pleasing, clackety noises as the wind catches them. Low sunlight, glowing gold, warms the landscape. Under the trees cyclamen flowers bob up out of the leaf litter surrounded by windfall apples & hungry blackbirds. #NatureWriting

French armored cruiser Chanzy (1894). A smaller version of the Dupuy de Lôme, she carried two 7.6 inch guns fore and aft, and six 5.5 inch guns along the sides, all in turrets.
Ran aground in the Chusan Islands near Shanghai in 1907.
