WOOD STREET (2026) There's one quote from this documentary about a homeless community that really stuck with me:
"I got a right to be *somewhere*!"
The words of a man just before the police come in to clear out the meager encampment he was living in. #365Movies 291 #BSFF26 #CinemaforLiberation

VARIATIONS ON A THEME (2026) This South African film is a poetic look at the lingering effects of colonialism. It's a quiet, meditative film with a dreamlike quality to its warm visuals. #365Movies 293 #BSFF26 #CinemaforLiberation

TRUE NORTH (2025) This documentary about the civil rights struggle in Canada (focusing on 1960s Montreal) provides an interesting look at how their history mirrors our own and shows how Black American leaders influenced thought internationally. #365Movies 292 #BSFF26 #CinemaforLiberation

READING THE WORLD (2025) This doc highlights a revolutionary literacy program in early 1960s Brazil that taught farmers how to read in only 40 hours (when literacy was required to vote). The program was canceled by the military immediately after the coup. #365Movies 290 #BSFF26 #CinemaforLiberation

CALL OF MY LIFE (2026) A hopeless romantic working at a call center in Nigeria has to juggle work and dating in this modern rom-com. A charming little film. #365Movies 289 #BSFF26 #CinemaforLiberation
