Acadian Flycatcher migratory routes rewritten. In spring, most of the migration takes a largely land-based western circum-Gulf path. In fall, they take an easterly route through Florida and across the western Caribbean, bypassing most of Texas. Most fall Acadians in Texas are misidentified.

GFZ doesn't list stations used. USGS should have a more accurate origin for this as they run and routinely use a number of circum-Caribbean stations for locations.

It also has the foreshock on the Bocono fault and mainshock on the San Sebastian Fault.

This movie came out when I was 10 and I LOVED it! I watched it again and again. My sisters and I would quote it to each other!

Now that I’m a Circum-Caribbean scholar, I would probably have different opinions if I saw it for the first time today… but young me? The biggest fan!

Yellow fever was a problem - and most of the labor was from the Caribbean area; mostly already immune to the disease. The wealth from the project was an important cultural driver for the following era of circum-Caribbean society.

It was domesticated in Mexico/ Central America where names in indigenous languages like "guajolote" (derived from Nahua) are still used in addition to Spanish's "pavo."

Other indigenous-derived names still in use seem to be a circum-Caribbean thing in Spanish.
