When I work with any other company than the one I work at i have to basically learn how their system works and then walk them through their own stuff. One engineer used Civil3D for 15 years. I do not have Civil3D. They were so bad at it I downloaded the student trial of it at 8am, taught myself how

Cannot get DXF file to 'correct' location in QGIS using projections
I need to import an AutoCAD DXF file into QGIS. However, I'm running into problems with the CRS. The project CRS is EPSG:4326, the OSM Standard I'm referencing is EPSG:3857, and the projection from the DXF file is EPSG:2277 (TX83-CF in Civil3D). It seems that no matter what I do, the data never ends up in the right location. What I've done: * Georeferenced the file using Another DXF Importer and adding the coordinate system when prompted (ends up in the Pacific Ocean in the right latitude but wrong longitude) * Imported without georeferencing using Another DXF Importer (again, right latitude but wrong longitude) * Changed OSM Standard projection to EPSG:4326, 2277, and 26914 (ends up at 'Null Island', the white void, and the Middle East) * Changed the project projection to EPSG:2277, 3857, and 26914 (stays at right latitude wrong longitude) I'm pretty sure I'll have to modify the DXF file in order to fix this, but truly I'm grasping at straws. One of my coworkers helped me to find the solution! It turns out that the file was supposed to be in NAD27, not NAD83. The correct projection was EPSG:32040.
