The structural engineering and continual monitoring during construction of this building is fascinating really

A page from my paperback on pioneering Indian engineering women: Roots and Wings.
A. Lalitha graduated in 1943 from my alma mater, the College of Engineering, Guindy, and received an improvised certificate, which had no provision for women.

This is the entire software engineering field
the ADHD urge to procrastinate by obsessively tinkering with some unimportant subtask that's only quasi-related to what you were originally trying to do

We face enormous, urgent, planetary-scale engineering and environmental challenges, and we're wasting energy, materials, and engineering time on THIS? Seriously?

They're already engineering their minibike hail shields.

Man, this LLM reverse engineering stuff is fucking depressing, even by LLM standards.

every single week i am nothing short of amazed by what the nfl red zone channel is able to pull off. logistically speaking it's a brilliant feat of engineering. 22 guys on the field, probably two or three costume changes per minute. astounding

sad to be in a "slop until proven otherwise" modding/reverse engineering scene now

idk i think they had a minor skill issue in the engineering department

found a cool book today (that @nuclearanna.bsky.social might appreciate); "nuclear engineering" from 1958

industry analysts breathlessly await the reveal of what new engineering abnormalities his embrace of AI engenders. perhaps a neural network that runs on blood

In an era when women were routinely erased from history's achievements and forced to the sidelines by male scientists, she led the team that developed Apollo’s flight software, saved humanity’s first Moon landing, and revolutionised software engineering.

it's not impressive engineering bsky.app/profile/toob...
As both a certified CAR GUY and an economist-ish, I cannot imagine a headline more designed to drive me, personally, insane.

This "flying car" technology is neither new nor novel. It is not practical and would not sell.

Let me tell a story of actually useful car tech that never made it to market.
Could Tesla’s flying car send sales and shares soaring?

The engineering on that is astounding.
October 18, 2026 at 4:42 PM
it would be cool if it was a small engineering team with limited budget and wasnt trying to pretend it was a real production car

instead its an engineering team with unlimited budget pretending this is a production car and not a stunt car.

Stoners are so proud of stoner engineering but 90% of it is just straightening out a paperclip

Tesla's new Roadster is extraordinary engineering, but an idiotically inefficient vanity project. Rockets, heavy pressure tanks and hours of refilling just to make a car hop? I guarantee our skies will be busy with practical eVTOLs long before Roadsters start hopping on thrusters. If ever.
Tesla’s New Roadster: Extraordinary Engineering or Musk’s Ultimate Vanity Project?
