Can someone point out to Alex Burghart that under the Conservative government between 2010 and 2024, the UK's overall tax burden* rose from around 33% to roughly 36.5%, reaching its highest level since the late 1940s.

*Measured as total tax revenue as a share of national income or GDP

Trussell Trust: '69% of people referred to Trussell's food banks are disabled and 75% have at least one disabled person in their household'.
"Almost 9m people.. are at risk of needing a food bank.. that includes 2.9m children.. 1 in 5 people saying there household has run out of food & couldn't afford to buy more.."

As one food bank user explains: "The gap between what we earn & what we need is ever increasing" #GMB

There's a huge amount of noise about the welfare budget "spiralling out of control."

This helpful chart shows it's projected to rise by a whole 0.2 points of GDP over the next five years.

A myth that will not die...

2. Rebuild a new parliament in a circle to allow real debate, not the current mud slinging across the two sides
