The wonderful type 2 that was the class 25. I always loved these little mixed traffic locos, and their distinctive engine sound. Seen here passing Hest Bank level crossing in the mid 80s.

25309 Stands in the holding sidings at Carlisle with a GUV for company. The Rat was later renumbered as 25909 for the industrial mineral traffic in the North West; it survives today in preservation.
