Most likely, some of the traditions which we find on the island are not indigenous but have been imported from other places within the British Isles or possibly further afield. Much of data we have on fish weirs come in the form maps and written records.

Stay high, Stay dry, Stay back. Looks very dramatic but they were a safe distance from the waves, but did get wet from the spray.
