I don’t know if this will go anywhere, but could people start posting links to their works on #AO3 with the biggest gulf of kudos to comments? All appropriate fandom, pairings, and CW hashtags. #commentculture

More people should comment! It doesn't matter if it's sex, when the writing and characterization is good, when you enjoy, you comment! Even if just to say "I love this". I promise everyone it means more to most creators than "X left Kudos".

I included #alt-text, because this is still really, really important to me for as many people to read as possible. #commentculture

I still don't understand the mindset that says "don't comment on old fics".

Also, how is two months *old*? #commentculture

Great thing about comment bingos:
- helps me find new things I wouldn’t on my own
- assuages my choice paralysis by giving me a direction

#veesgossip is the hashtag I use for reccing/discussing Vees-focused fics or tropes! I think we should have more public discussion of fics instead of hiding praise on servers like Discord where the authors can't see. I usually post after commenting!

This one has been on my TBR for a bit, so a good excuse to finally read! It went into my "to reread" bookmarks too. :) #commentculture #staticmoth #gore

So close to done with both of my summer comment bingo cards! #commentculture

#justleaveacommentfest starts tomorrow! The daily themes are guidelines, but the point is to leave as many comments as possible. Anyone else going to participate?

When you comment a lot, you’ll notice you use the same words and phrases to express delight sometimes.

That’s fine. No one getting your comments will think less of you for it. Authors have a writing style, yes? Artists have drawing styles. Commenters develop styles too. #commentculture

I know #AO3 is doing their best to combat spam comments on our fanfiction. I don’t think this is the answer.

Having a system which calls perfectly fine comments “like spam” is harmful to #commentculture, but especially hurtful to any writer or READER who lacks confidence in writing comments.
