I look at these plus metaphyseal comminution specifically. Sometimes you can have lots of pieces and they line up ok but if the metaphysis is crumbled gingerbread it won't stay no matter how good the initial reduction.
Also, a well-molded splint after reduction prevents lots of surgeries.

I find the radial butress help correct the radial translation and shortening. Also helps contain some of the comminution to fine tune the volar reduction.
