I was on TV right after Platner dropped out and the consensus was that Maine was doomed for the Dems and I was like, why? the Nazi tattoo guy dropped out.

Lavrov said it violated the principles of consensus-based diplomacy that Poland, now the 20th largest economy in the world, was invited to the G20.

Reminder: Lavrov was invited to the G20 AGAINST the consensus of most countries, because of Trump.

Be careful what you wish for.

As I said on GB News yesterday, "I don't go with the consensus that Trump is going to get smashed."
It's this sort of astute political insight that would make me a brilliant Prime Minister.

There has been a consensus that Trump's tilt to Russia and decision to abandon Ukraine is not an issue for the election. That is a terrible thing.

Ok, if they went with Vader, that would be weird but Vader is at least kind of cool. I thought the universal consensus was that Anakin is both a child murderer and a whiny little bitch.
Faced with a potential blue wave in this week's midterm elections, the most internet-poisoned MAGA influencers have begin identifying with Anakin Skywalker, a genocidal archvillain from a space opera. And some of them actually seem to think it could turn the tide.
The Online Right’s Closing Campaign Argument: Fascist Anakin Skywalker Memes
With Democrats poised to make significant gains in Tuesday’s midterm elections, Trump supporters have been reduced to posting bizarre Star Wars fan fiction.

The essence of democracy lies in the ability to form and sustain a consensus. Jesse Watters doesn't understand this.

Yes— Abdul has a coherent alternative vision to the foreign policy consensus in DC and it's based on liberal principles and that makes these people really mad because they can't pin him down on accusations of sectarianism or antisemitism.
Lot going on here, obviously, but the same people in Washington DC who demand ironclad support for Israel also insist on ironclad support for Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Monarchies, the Egyptian military dictatorship, etc, and the only people arguing in favor of changing that are people like AES.
Bari Weiss's resident hack Ross Douthat made a complete fool of himself on 60 Minutes, trying to claim the Saudi lobby has the same grip on Washington as AIPAC. Abdul El-Sayed immediately crushed him: 'AIPAC spent $33 million against me alone! Name another lobby doing that.' It has to make sense!🗳️🌊

The funny thing about Abdul is that he really is just a middle class Arab liberal critic of US foreign policy consensus which means he is pro Ukraine / Taiwan but vehemently against everything the US stands for in MENA. In other words, the base of the Democratic Party.
This is what happens when an Arab candidate paraphrases an Eisenhower quote

I’m not that angry about Jeffries’ statements, because the problems are so deep. But until we build a broad consensus that the laws and rules matter (and they themselves admit to breaking them), you can’t clean house. Nothing this administration does has been legal so there must be accountability.

the reality is that we had a broad social & political consensus in favour of trans inclusion, our media went on a crusade against that, & everyone else . . . just folded

have been thinking a lot about the term “neoliberal consensus,” it’s how I’ve framed reform myself, but am not sure it counts as “consensus” when consent isn‘t part of the equation
