Visiting the Jamaraquá community in the Amazon River Basin was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to learn about local climate solutions and the sustainable economic practices happening here.

Proud to stand with Indigenous leaders in working to help California drive real solutions to the climate crisis.

My office and the New York Community Trust are awarding $3.2 million to 34 community environmental organizations to support pollinator conservation efforts across New York.

These funds are a down payment on a more sustainable future for future generations of New Yorkers.

One year ago, the world lost one of its strongest advocates.

Dr. Jane Goodall spent years advocating for animal welfare, for community-led conservation, and for youth environmental leadership.

She knew that each one of us had an important role to play, and she made sure that we knew that, too.

The Biden-Harris administration has been by far the best in terms of climate change, endangered species conservation, and science-based environmental management decisions. It’s not close. As a conservation policy scientist, I’d be strongly supporting them even if Trump wasn’t the alternative.

People do not even KNOW the interesting community environmental science and conservation/restoration projects I would fund if I was independently wealthy

(Hint: THOUSANDS of projects)
it's too bad I am not independently wealthy because I would be so good at being independently wealthy, but having to pay power bills and buy food is really interfering with all the stuff I want to do to help people lolcry

money is wasted on rich people.

Community-led conservation is an essential approach for the Jane Goodall Institute. Without leadership from local community members, and without tackling problems holistically, conservation initiatives cannot truly succeed.

👉 Dr. Jane discovered this when she went to Gombe 65 years ago.

Dear Conservation Community,
Every time you say there’s not enough $ for conservation, & hence we have to do something less than ideal, you help the government perpetuate the myths that they can’t massively increase funding *now* & that it’s not their lack of care & responsibility that’s the issue.

there are so many things we could be investing in instead of the pit of gen ai. vaccines! healthcare! public transport! community services! disaster management! UBI! archives! nature conservation! but of course then we'd be distributing all the money instead of giving it to like two or three guys
