it's weird how the earned settlement consultation says "Today, it is granted near automatically" (note, "near") but on the consultation *description* and in parliament, press quotes etc they say what's in my consultation screenshot. they know they're lying. it's *outrageous*

My workplace has started the consultation process around updating their gender reassignment guidance (which was produced in 2011) with a consultation presentation which so far only refers to the structure of the guidance and not at all to the actual content.

The consultation response confirms: The 10-year qualifying period will begin when the individual moves onto Protection Work and Study.
Not quite sure that the point of that route is then if someone already has less than 10-years to go before they reach settlement.

Refugees will be able to access settlement earlier if they move onto the new protection work and study route - of which there are still no details. That would then give a 10-year route to settlement *from that point* (presumably), but would also be impacted by the 10-year penalty.
