I used to breed show rats, I know a healthy rat when I see one, the ones that take the Contrapest appear to me to be *healthier* than average city rats, which matches the findings in the Contrapest trials (females were healthier due to not being drained by constant pregnancy/nursing)

even with a population that already eats Contrapest, it takes a long time for new dispensers to be used (the neophobia in rats is no joke!) so don’t assume it isn’t palatable if they don’t go through much of it the first few weeks, I added a second dispenser and they still empty the old one first

also FYI i recommend Contrapest because I use it, and while I don’t have cameras up to monitor the number of visitors to tell you if the rat population is shrinking over time, I can say they LOVE THE SHIT and are definitely consuming enough for an effect, and they no longer raid my worm bins
