One of my big bug bears with the iOS SDK is how clunky and archaic the Keychain APIs are. We're calling raw global strings like kSecClass and invoking C and CoreFoundation APIs like SecItemCopyMatching like it's 1990.

I now leverage that to check for Xojo objects and strings in my plugin development.

fun little bit of code in CoreFoundation when you attempt to call addObjectsFromSet: with a non-set argument. it warns you 64 times while adding to "checkForAndForgiveClientSin" with the error message also including "Please wait while the system corrects this..." like its gonna take a minute lol

KeyChain API is written with CoreFoundation framework in C using as it was part of Carbon/Mac OS 8 and 9.

This was kept this way on purpose as calling the function wouldn't result in a clear string of the objc_msgSend call in the final binary. Making it harder to reverse engineer.

I don't believe that.

If you write an algorithm in Objective-C and you need to optimize for speed you're going to write that in the C part of Objective-C with the help of the CoreFoundation framework. Kotlin has too much overhead to be able to be faster than that.
