Great 100% Grenache from AOC Gigondas. Cuvée Synchronosité 2020 from Domaine Les Florets. Vineyards at an altitude of 500 mtrs in the Dentelles Montmirail. Aged in oak barrels voor 12-16 months. Red fruit, licorice, menthol, minerality and freshness.

100% Grenache from terroir in the Côtes du Rhône village Rochegude. Elégant, fine with a lot of red fruit notes and some licorice flavours. Small production.

It’s a majority Grenache Gigondas from vineyards high up in the Dentelles de Montmirail, around 500 metres altitude.

Pretty color of ruby with a wide reddish rim. Dry on the palate with mild complexity. Showing red fruits with earth, light chocolate notes and light spices. Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries. Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. Spicy and entertaining. Fruit forward and precise. Would be nice to revisit it in a couple of years, and see how it evolved. Good by itself or with food. A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. Made only in the best vintages. 15% alcohol by volume. 88 points. $25.

I think this banning of #solarpanels in the #vineyards of the #CôtesDuRhône region is a bit of a shame and backwards-looking. I can understand the point about visual impact in scenic areas, but surely it'd be worth a try in more humdrum spots. It's only a trial.
