Just seen the Countryfile piece on data centres.
I'm interested to read the Green Party's position on these.
Do you have some information please?

I think Sunday mornings watching Countryfile on BBC2 is a sure sign I am old lol

However, to counter fate ~ I watch to my OWN playlist(s)

Breakfast soon
I can wait. I can. Probably. Possibly. Ok, it's tough. Why is it taking so long? What are they doing? ffs

And so World Animal Day is today

To be fair- it was not one of the better ones- it was really just a RSGB puff piece on HamFest
-However, the other Countryfile, roving reporter episodes are pretty good, just need a bit of John Craven for sparkle.

Two days, two BBC shows, one special stork project! 💧🪶

After featuring on BBC Countryfile, our project appeared on BBC Escape to the Country, with Celtic Rewilding.

It’s fantastic to see our #naturerecovery work reaching audiences across the country.

There is a new one being built in the UK which will " annually consume less water than a single domestic house". ( BBC Countryfile).

Watching BBC breakfast, and it's amazing how many shows on the beeb still have a whiff of Blue Peter about them.
The One Show, CountryFile and most of the daytime schedule have the same slightly patronising and restrained presenting style. These people can't talk like that off camera.

From what I remember the farmer has to sort of sit on the sow's back and treadle her hindquarters to trick her body into thinking she's had a boar clambering about up there.

I have nfi why I know that. Probably countryfile.

If you haven't watched it (and if we may say so ourselves), here's your cue to add this Trent treat to your watchlist.

Did you catch us on Countryfile?

What a treat it has been to welcome the team to our backyard. As part of the Rivers2040 project, we highlighted the Trent's potential to become a blueprint for river recovery across the UK, and the collective efforts already underway.

Perhaps an audition to be the security correspondant on Countryfile?

Another dodgy statement from the UK Govt's response to the #Countryfile piece on data centres last night.

Have ministers made any assessment of the emissions new AI data centres will also enable? EG: www.nature.com/articles/s44...

There was a feature about data centres on "Countryfile" a BBC programme in the UK. A CEO of a data centre said they were building a new one which will consume less water than a single domestic house. It will have a closed loop cooling system. Don't accept large water wastage by data centres.

Season 38, Episode 39 – “World Rivers Day-The River Trent”To mark World Rivers Day, Matt Baker and Margherita Taylor explore the River Trent and the land that surrounds it. Once heavily engineered and polluted, the river is now becoming a test bed for new approaches to improving its condition. At Willington Wetlands, Matt searches for signs that the beavers introduced five years ago have produced new kits and meets a local farmer to see what difference changes in land management can make to pollution and river habitats. Meanwhile, Margherita follows a project to reintroduce white storks to the Trent Valley, and Joe Crowley investigates what the rapid growth of AI data centres could mean for the countryside.Links: HOMEPAGE – TVDBCountryfile.S38E39.720p.WEB.H264-JFFMKV | AAC | 1.71GBNFO - Subtitles – Screenshot – Torrent – UPLOADY – NiTROFLARE – RAPiDGATOR Single File RAR: RAPiDGATOR BackupCountryfile.S38E39.1080p.WEB-DL.x264-W4N70KsMKV | AAC | 3.67GBNFO – Subtitles – Screenshot – Torrent – UPLOADY – NiTROFLARE – RAPiDGATORSingle File RAR: RAPiDGATOR BackupCountryfile.S38E39.WEB.H264-RBB [P2P]MP4 | AAC | 498MBNFO – Subtitles – Screenshot – Torrent – UPLOADY – NiTROFLARE – RAPiDGATORSingle File RAR: RAPiDGATOR Backup

Heartbeat theme song used to do that to me, now its Countryfile and Antiques Roadshow and I love them both

I wonder if the makers of #Countryfile quite appreciate that it's probably the programme during which their target audience is most hammered each week.

BBC #Countryfile has investigated the spread of data centres in rural areas and their demands for energy, water and land. 70GW of data centres in the planning pipeline. Industry says 8 to 15GW will actually be built. Hard to imagine what benefit could justify burning 250W for each UK adult or child.

If we must have data centres, they should be located at the coast or offshore, cooled with desalinated sea water and powered by offshore wind farms.
