I don't play formally much anymore, and just noodle for fun, but like to run mine through VSTs or Soundfonts mostly.
I got a sort of roundabout EWI to MIDI Controller to Modal CraftSynth setup that's gets it playing wavetable synths too, which is a lot of fun.

I used to own a Roland JX-8P back 20 years ago. I owned it for 10 years and selling it was a mistake.
Fast forward to now - Roland Boutique releases the JX-08 - it's like two JX-8Ps in a tiny little unit.
I have one and a JD-08 in a little desktop rack I built myself. On top is a CraftSynth 2.
