The trial of Beau Lamarre-Condon, a former police officer accused of murdering TV presenter Jesse Baird and his partner Luke Davies, continues as crime scene photographs from the Paddington home in Sydney have been released to the jury. The 31-year-old defendant has pleaded not guilty, claiming self-defence, and is facing murder charges in the NSW Supreme Court. Prosecutors have informed the jury that the crime scene was allegedly altered before police arrived, with cleaners hired by Baird's flatmates being instructed to stop cleaning by officers. The photographs show the home where the couple was allegedly killed in February 2024, with Detective Senior Constable Alistair Wright stating that no blood was found inside the home, though a possible drop was observed on a bookshelf. The jury was also shown images taken by Baird's flatmates, which appeared to show a 'red pool of blood' next to blue tarp in the backyard, though the women initially thought it was rust from surfboard bags. The case has revealed that Lamarre-Condon allegedly told a friend he would 'take bodies to bushland where nobody would ever find them' if he killed someone, and that he had broken into Baird's home after watching him through a fence. He also allegedly stole Baird's Polaroid camera and Easter egg. Lamarre-Condon is accused of attempting to sink the bodies in a dam at a farm near Goulburn before dumping them along a fence line outside a Greek monastery in Bungonia. The prosecution claims he also sent fake messages to Baird's friends to make it seem like the TV presenter was still alive, including a road trip to Perth. The trial has also uncovered that Lamarre-Condon had a history of stalking and obsessive behavior towards Baird, including watching him have sex with other men and breaking into his home. A friend, Georgia Cook, testified that Lamarre-Condon made disturbing comments about killing someone and hiding bodies, which scared her. She later reported these comments to police months after the alleged murders. The case has been ongoing since February 2024, with the couple's bodies discovered shortly after they were allegedly killed on February 19, 2024. The jury has been shown body-worn camera footage of officers asking cleaners to stop cleaning the scene, and the prosecution has emphasized that the crime scene was altered before police could properly examine it. The trial continues as the prosecution seeks to establish Lamarre-Condon's guilt through evidence of his alleged actions and statements.
