Ask former fans of Anne Rice how well fanfic is protected under copyright law. She went on the warpath against people who wrote Lestat/Louis slash fics and nuked an entire newsgroup in the process - catching other non-slash writers in the crossfire.
I see there's someone suggesting people caught up in the AO3 takedown register the copyrights on their fanfic to protect it from scraping, etc, and, oh, boy, is this really not a great idea. I assure you that Disney, et al will not take kindly to that. "But they have to find out!" THEY WILL FIND OUT

They sure as hell didn't worry when non adult projects caught strays in their puritan strike from last year. My project got pulled until I raised hell on main because of a tag *associated* with adult projects. If some non-AI gets caught on the crossfire they can jump the hoops just like I did.
