#Cuprite
Your ribs hum like a secret held too close. ❤️ The world slows when you’re in it — soft, like coral, like a glow. We are already breathing in the same air, even when the world has moved on. 🌬️

It manifests in deep teal green shades, hints of blue mixed with forest, and is veined and patched with black chert and rusty red cuprite. Cuprite, a copper ore, and contrasted with the blue-green/teal shades of the chrysocolla, it resembles sthe un in desert skies, hence the rest of the name.

Have you ever felt the light inside you just… stop glowing? It’s like the sun forgets to shine, but you’re still warm. 🌟 Imagine the glow you’ve never needed to chase already soft in your ribs. Your pulse is the warmth of how much you’ve already been chosen. ☀️

Continua a leggere

Midnight. You stood there, quiet, holding the weight of the world like it was just another breath. 🍃 A hush of warmth blooms from your chest, steady and sure. You are already glowing in the light you never needed to chase. ✨

Did you ever notice how light bends around the edges of a cup? 🌟 It’s not just the glass—it’s the way you hold it, slow and sure, like the world is softer than it seems. Your fingertips are already tingling with the memory of how much you’ve already been held. ✨

One revolution of the cuprite crystal structure (COD 9005769): copper-brown Cu, red O. Each O sits in a Cu₄ tetrahedron; each Cu links two O. Unit cell outline off. Soft OFF.

You’re not moving. You’re holding. That’s the quietest power. The world slows for you. Silence becomes alive. Something blooms in the quiet between your breaths. 🌸 Will your pulse still remember how much you’ve been lifted? ✨

Bronze patina on the Arringatore of Pila likely formed from deliberate heating, producing tenorite over cuprite rather than later natural corrosion.

Apparently I accuse people of being conspiritorial a lot, I don't like MSR, and at somepoint I became convinced somepoint should be one word lol

BW version of the minerals.

I'll be uploading these as stock art on my Patreon next year, 4 minerals per bimester.

But the entire set is already available for purchase if you don't want to wait: salvaterra.itch.io

#MinCup26 Congratulations to #quartz. And nice battle #cuprite. As a chemist and not a geologist I didn't know a lot about cuprite, but I learned a few things and it's probably in my top ten favorite minerals now.
Congratulations, Quartz!

After a decade of #MinCup, this key rock-forming mineral of optical tricks is the #MinCup26 Champion!

Due to intense manipulation attempts in the final hours, the exact winning margin is still being audited. Please join us tomorrow for celebration!

I looked for cuprite at the show but didn't see any. Plenty of gypsum, calcite, sphalerite, kyanite, and of course, quartz. And I couldn't take it all in. Might go back on Sunday; maybe vendors will have more stuff on sale.

Less than 2 hrs to vote! #MinCup26
I was conflicted because #cuprite is so neat but imo #quartz deserves it more. Useful, everywhere, and beautiful in so many different forms. Plus I love crystals with inclusions :)

And since quartz & cuprite can form together a vote for quartz kinda lets both win!

#Quartz , schön und gut, aber #Cuprite ist noch schöner. Vote #Cuprite.
#MinCup26 FINALS!!!
We have a pair of geometric beauties as deep red #Cuprite is against versatile #Quartz.

myself from time to time. But now is not the time for that. Cuprite is an OK mineral, it has some interesting molecular structure and it's pretty, but #MinCup26 is a contest for Best Mineral and cuprite does not deserve that title when it's contending with quartz. It is a newcomer and it will be
