First amazed bird of the day, a curlew flying out to sea. This Painting now hangs in my home reminding me of the saltmarsh in the East Coast.

A Eurasian Curlew standing on barnacle covered rocks at the edge of the sea. The bird is slightly right of centre of the shot, facing left so that its left side can be seen. It has a very long, downward curved bill, which is brownish. Its plumage on top is a mottled grey-brown with dark streaking throughout, the plumage gets darker towards the back of the bird. Its underbelly is cream coloured and is also dark streaked. It has long greyish legs, which can only be seen to just below the knee in the shot. The foreground is a dark rock which appears to be one large slab with large crack and crevasses throughout. It is curved rather than sharp, and mostly covered in a thin layer of yellowish barnacles with a few limpets here and there. The background is a calm and out of focus sea with a whitish appearance from the light
