When it would have been much easier to cater to cynicism, James Talarico ran a campaign filled with hope. He has inspired Texans from all walks of life, from all corners of this state, to believe a better future is possible.

November 4, 2026 at 7:16 PM
This morning I tidied up and put away my cynicism, pessimism, and hopelessness. Let that shit stay in the back of the junk drawer for a while.
November 4, 2026 at 5:14 PM
Look – maybe set aside your meticulously curated cynicism for one day. Have a donut. Let us dream, man.
November 3, 2026 at 11:40 AM
Lmao wow. The time I spent today questioning my cynicism was time wasted
"The American people don't want us to get even; they want us to get things done on their behalf."

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who is now poised to become the next House Speaker, says that Democrats will focus on affordability concerns and not retribution after their midterm wins.

It’s his day 2 of being senator elect and the cynicism police are already writing tickets.😏
November 5, 2026 at 1:49 PM
Even if you’re burned out by top-of-the-ticket drama, your local races and ballot initiatives are important as hell. Cynicism is a tool of fascism!

*NOT cynicism dial

We broke the handle on the typo dial years ago, shut up
November 4, 2026 at 4:59 PM
12 hour amnesty does NOT pertain to the Washington State genitals phrenology bill; that issue is covered by the rage dial, the cynicism dial.

as an american trans person, i really do struggle to feel cynicism about this in this moment. many of these democratic politicians are weasels and cowards, but republicans keep putting us on the ballot and getting fucking trounced for their effort

Russell Brand has “done journalism’ in the same way Stephen Yaxley Lennon has, or let’s be honest, Allison Pearson herself

“Our cynicism” here, is also a nice use of the Royal ‘we’

Resisting cynicism…
November 4, 2026 at 7:26 PM
I understand innocent until proven guilty obvs. It's more the cynicism that gets me.
November 5, 2026 at 4:25 PM
Gotta admit, I prefer it when the libs are having a good day to when the fash are having a good day.

Anarchist cynicism will remain on "light" setting for another 12 hours, to celebrate.
November 4, 2026 at 4:52 PM
Whether the polls say your candidate is ahead or behind, the answer is the same: vote. Complacency and cynicism decide more elections than polls ever will.

Two years ago this was not supposed to happen. Trump was supposedly inevitable and unstoppable. Millions of everyday Americans refused to give into that nihilism and cynicism. They organized, marched, protested, GOTVed, and built a new Democratic majority that was never supposed to happen.
🌊 It's official: We've flipped both chambers of Congress!

Voters have rejected Trump's attacks on our democracy, his cruelty, and his politics of greed. We The People just elected leaders who will fight for us.

This majority was built by ordinary Americans who refused to look away or back down.

taking everyone's cynicism out behind the barn, and returning alone

Who's your favourite sitcom politician?
November 4, 2026 at 3:08 PM
Foot Monday is back and here is Nabiki Tendo from Ranma 1/2. She’s always been my favorite Tendo sister, her greediness and cynicism make her perfect! 😍

cynicism makes you stupid and that’s on full display in every paragraph here
October 31, 2026 at 7:10 PM
Taking time for joy is REALLY fucking important to continuing the work.

It's ok to do that and not apologize with cynicism immediately! You can in fact contain multitudes!
November 4, 2026 at 12:46 PM
This isn't cynicism, it's a call to action. The lesson to take from last night is that naked fascism is clearly unpopular with Americans. That's good! But if your politics ends at the voting booth you just get the Democrats' less naked fascism. Now is the time to organize!

Scott Colom shows every vote matters. Fuck cynicism
