OK I guess there was just some atproto relay weirdness. This all feels oddly reminiscent of Bitcoin / cyrptocurrency based systems. Logged into 4 different frontends with the same credentials along the way.

Pretty much. Between cyrptocurrency, NFTs, and now AI, this is a bubble that's been due to burst for a long time. It'll be interesting to see how, exactly, the house of cards falls down and what collateral damage is caused in the economy.

It's a currency that is based on a tangible, limited assets. It does perform a valid function imo despite the h8. I don't think a future without any sort of cyrptocurrency existing is no longer realistic unless cryptography turns out to be impossible.
