Super-35 film is more than adequate to digitize at 2K (~2MP) if the master is still in good condition.
Both film & digital DCDM have res at least 2K and upscaling it to 4K (2x2) isn't that hard.
Real good sharpening algorithms available on DI apps like Assimilate Scratch since about a decade ago.

It came out of an earlier incident at Chicago DM where longtime Jewish marchers were expelled for carrying the flags, then retroactively alleged them to be outside infiltrators. DCDM saw that controversy and decided “what if that, but as formal policy?”
