This debate has this been going on for years and years and yet politicians now hardly mention Early Years when talking about policies. The last time I looked another journalist is now at the DfE as Minister for Early Education. Never hear from him though. They just don't listen or learn.

How much fun would it be to work on the DfE SEND CPD with a super "anti teaching assistant" stance MAT and one that has lots of special schools and trains TAs???

Good morning #EduSky England!

The DfE has published the tender docs for the SEND CPD!!

Sadly I'm not allowed to share it with y'all.

I've now got 2 weeks to find some more strong partners to join our lead, tech, and some delivery.

I've got good contacts with a MAT, Parent carer forum...

It’s actually where the ‘you need to collaborate more’ DfE and UUK argument makes sense for universities, but at discipline/subject level in the first instance. Because as you say it’s different across subjects.

The last time I did them all was for that Looney Tunes marathon. I pretty much the entirety of DFE and 7-Arts in 4 days and virtually everything is a blur. I was really pushing myself to just be done with it all...

Who else is running a formal/ informal subject specific SEND group, and wants to influence the DfE SEND CPD?

Money will be involved.
Well, I'm charing our trust's Art SEND network that includes practitioners from other local/non-trust special schools, and I'm in the Nottingham SEND Galleries CoP, so perhaps a collaborative approach would be more rounded for different SEND needs...

If you were going to recommend a school or academy to support creating the DfE SEND CPD for mainstream, who would it be?

Go on, go on, name names...

I really want our DfE SEND CPD to have subject specific stuff in it.

I knew someone who was obsessed with Neighbours because "it's the only soap with aspiration".

A propo nothing*...

If someone asked you to write a guide for mainstream art teachers about Send and inclusion, what would you say.

The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership has had the trusts to which its 24 schools are being transferred announced by the DfE. But this seems an entirely top-down process.

New petition: Mandate emergency hydrocortisone IM injection training in schools
Mandate emergency hydrocortisone IM injection training in schools for pupils with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH). Parents can't leave hospital without this training, yet schools can opt out of it. Change DfE guidance to mandate similar training to that for the use of EpiPens.
