Lieber @deutschlandfunk.de.web.brid.gy, es gibt eine deutsche Gesellschaft für Amerikastudien, die DGfA. Dort tummeln sich Amerikanist*innen mit den Schwerpunkten Literatur, Geschichte, Politik und Wirtschaft.

Jedes einzelne Mitglied dort hätte ihnen einen qualifiziertere Einschätzung geben können

Weil wir nicht gefragt werden! Die DGfA hat sogar extra ne Webseite. Ich bin regelmäßig in den Medien tatsächlich aber zu Trump, aktueller Lage… Fehlanzeige! Und die Anfragen kommen sonet im Vergleich selten aus DE, eher BBC, Schweizer Rundfunk, USA, Australien war alles schon dabei. /1

I didn‘t go to the main DGfA conference in 3 years and somewhere between that (and really also a pandemic and my sick leave before that) a whole cohort of phds started and are either done or almost done and some of my peers became full professors and I feel old (if definitely still lit)
