It's pretty much canon that Samus is fond of cute critters! And there's also the Dachora and Etecoons, the friendly animals from Super Metroid that teach abilities to Samus, and she saved them when Zebes exploded as seen in Fusion, which shows that rescuing them in SM is in fact the canonical ending

I think it goes a bit far to say Samus blows up Zebes. That's on the Space Pirates, or probably on Mother Brain herself. I'm sure plenty of non-pirate creatures beyond the tatori and shaktool die, but Samus really has the time to save the etecoons and dachora.

ok so the heart forge is exploding and i seem to be locked out of the dachora section of it i dont have power bombs or know how to grind them idk if these statues die to it or not but i'm honestly really getting extreme idgaf energy at this point so i might quit lol

tbh i honestly can't stop imagining that dachora just shinesparked off the planet now. like we know it can do that. it's probably not a very smart idea but it is just going in a straight glowing line in this. who knows

one thing my friend thought was really funny when i explained the whole dachora etecoon thing to them no context was "awesome how they just assume you can do that", like yeah dachora is behind a speed booster block wall, but still funny to imagine "ok so clearly you can boost right"
