For this week's #Caturday, meet Daseep the Sumatran Tiger. Whilst visiting the snowy wonderland at Dudley Zoo last week, it was safe to assume that Daseep wasn't loving the conditions. ❄️🤣

We’re wishing our lovely Sumatran tigress, Daseep, a very Happy 15th Birthday.
Thank you for all the kind messages which have been sent for Daseep over the last few days.
Hand reared as a cub, she enjoys human company, so our keepers are spending lots of extra time & report she is doing well.

I might be studying African wild dogs, but that doesn’t stop me taking part in #caturday. Daseep and Joao on a recent visit to Dudley Zoo.

Our beautiful Sumatran, Daseep, is helping us celebrate Global Tiger Day!
Critically endangered in the wild, it is estimated only around 400-500 of her sub-species remain in the wild, with threats including deforestation, poaching and habitat loss.

It’s Caturday & Daseep is showing us her tongue!
Did you know tigers have one of the roughest tongues of all animal species, with small spikes, called papillae covering the surface.
These are so sharp they can lick meat clean off bones!

Aww I'm gutted, hope the staff and Daseep are doing alright. I did this digital drawing off his eyes years ago. He was so beautiful.
