Picked up a very handy (in 1971, before my time) decimalisation converter in our local charity shop. For the rest of his life, my Granda would complain about how many fewer penny sweets you got to the pound 😂🥰

When decimalisation occurred in 1966, the Australian government compiled an 81 page file on dangers of using decimal coins in Christmas puddings. There was a media campaign warning people not to use the new coins in their cooking. The file is now digitised.

The Churchill coin isn’t even part of the currency, it’s a glorified medallion. (That they still make now mind, long after decimalisation!).
