ABC and the LA Times giving Trump what he wants is a unique event in American history, and we need to not let this be normalized.

This is one of the best summations of the stakes and moment I've seen. We have to be doing everything possible to sew division within the Republican party and turning popular opinion against Trump. We will not have a lot of time and need to figure out where to apply pressure.

We did lose a very large messaging and propaganda battle.

Too many voters believed lies, and others are just tuned out.

This article has some ideas on how to win in the future.

Democrats Lost the Propaganda War
The party used up about $5 billion on political ads in 2024. There’s a better way.

I just want to point out so you have the talking point ready. There is zero evidence that having more money stops it from being an influence.

BASH: One of the concerns is that Elon Musk has billions tied up in govt contracts. You don't see a conflict of interest?

CHRIS SUNUNU: Everyone has a conflict of interest

BASH: But that's a pretty big one

SUNUNU: He's so rich he's removed from the potential financial influence

We really need to do better evaluating who is hearing what we are saying and do a better job changing course when we see we aren't being effective.

Democrats passed all this populist legislation, but weren’t able to transmit these accomplishments to the Voting public.
Starting today, Medicare beneficiaries will have their annual out-of-pocket drug costs capped at $2,000 as a result of the Inflation Reduction Act.

If I were in charge of #DemocraticMessaging, I'd start with Bloomberg's 2020 campaign team. They knew how to manage social media messaging and could pack a punch.

With the exception of Mamdani, I don’t hear Dems expressing the dreams of Americans and making promises to deliver those dreams —loudly and with confidence.

I don’t hear Dems proudly bragging about past accomplishments — in simple, easy-to-understand terms.

So basic!

How do we exploit MAGA division between the tech bros and racist MAGA. We should concentrate on creating as much infighting as possible. We have a progressive think tank here, let's start using it.

This is the story we need to be talking we've let them distract Americans for decades. We need to stop giving them a platform to spread disinformation, and cover what they are doing instead of letting them scare people with no pushback.

“The abrupt elevation of culture wars echoes the formula Republicans have used for the past forty years to distract from the reality that between 1981 and 2021 their embrace of so-called supply-side economics moved $50 trillion from the bottom 90% to the top 1%.”

Network pundits who criticized #DemocraticMessaging & “lack of excitement” during the campaigns do an about-face & will say that they knew this 🌊 would happen. A critical piece, & I agree with Kamala Harris’ sentiment in her campaign; when we vote in record numbers we win.

Networks don't report actual #DemocraticMessaging. It's the real work on the ground. You won't see GOP officials doing this-they don't want to upset the tyrant in the White House.Thank you @govwesmoore.bsky.social.

We need to figure out the best way to deliver this message. We need to get Trump voters to feel deceived, betrayed, and used. The best chance we have at stopping Trump is turning his voters against him. We need to think strategically about how we message. #DemocraticMessaging

We need to make sure that Americans understand Republicans and not the government are to blame for what happens. We need Americans to know why things get worse.

Our tech overlords have ruined the online platforms that Americans depend on. Now, as Donald Trump returns to the White House with Elon Musk in tow, expect the same to happen to our government.

We really need to be talking about the institutions, doing everything we can to educate Americans on what they are about to lose. Make them aware of what Trump is doing. The best way to stop Trump is to shine a light on what he does, not what he says.

maybe Democratic messaging should be how we (tthe US) are suffering under Trumpism and how great Canada is doing defying Trump. No food lines, jobs expanding, trade burgeoning. We'd be better without him, like so many other countries.
