When i worked construction i would talk for 10+hrs a day to the dumbest most ignorant trumpers. Every single one of them said "i would vote for bernie, but he'd never win." DemSocialism is a populist political ideology, but since it threatens the capitalist order, both parties reject it entirely.

I don’t disagree. I see the timeline like this: people saw the value of DemSocialism c2016 - DSA membership spiked, momentum builds, then that gets squandered by infighting due to a small # of ultraleftists who screeched a campist orthodoxy, ran everyone off, and provided no theory of change.

I am reduced to voting for the least harm - not what's good. But i get the assignment b/c i realize we have to work local and push it up. it's the process. So I vote D across the board, knowing that corporate centrists will not survive much longer.

The Democrats could probably start being a threat again by demonstrating literally any change right now.
I'd prefer they move towards populism/demsocialism, but looking at it purely in terms of defeating Republicans it doesn't even have to be that drastic.
