Tusks in hyraxes are ever-growing dentin-based teeth, distinct from rodent incisors. Study on subadult rock hyrax reveals thin enamel on tusks (non-mastication use) & RUNX2 expression in tooth formation & suggest that long crypt phases aid dentin production.

gortin', dentin', sorxty-nentin'
Actually, it's "Gorting and Denting" but with dropped Gs. A northern english euphemism for "wining and dining".
apparently the brits are fighting about something called “gorton and denton” today, which i assume is a late-night comedy show that did something controversial. won’t be looking into this

Aardvarks have unique set of dentition (teeth):
-- No canines or incisors, just 20-22 molars
-- completely lack enamel, teeth are made of thousands of dentin prisms.
-- teeth grow continuously
-- They're 'living fossils' of their eutherian ancestry with no living close relatives

"Recreating the procedure on modern human teeth showed the process would have taken around 35 to 50 minutes of continuous, high-pressure drilling to penetrate the dentin and expose the pulp chamber."
