2/7 Then why don’t you wait to ask stupid questions until you actually know what happened? How ‘bout you lose the attitude and cooperate? You’re just like my damn nephew. Lucky him. To have such a badass uncle. Sit down and shut your— Screw that. I’m not gonna give you evidence to throw at Dillon. Doesn’t matter. We have enough witnesses that say this wasn’t accidental. Who said that? I thought you were leaving. I’ll stay if you stop being a jerk. Fine. If you stop acting like a… kid. I’m fourteen. Tell me about Dillon. He came in mid-semester from France or something. His English isn’t great. Who was he friends with? Everyone. He was nice to people. Even Crew. And don’t make some stupid-ass comment about how killing someone isn’t nice. But Dillon treated you differently than the other kids. Is that a question? What was your relationship with Dillon Couri? Everyone thought he was my boyfriend. Your 14-year-old boyfriend? He’s 16. And it’s not like we made out in the hallway or anything. What kind of stuff did you do with Dillon? Why does it matter? It has nothing to do with Crew. Except that Crew called you a faggot and a gaywad. Amazing how those words roll right off your tongue. How physical was your relationship with Dillon? 3/7 How physical was your relationship with Dillon? Why? You get off on tween romance or something… …Go ahead, hit me. This interview is over. Dillon is as good as convicted. I’m sorry. I’m just stressed. Dillon and I held hands sometimes. And one time we got close to kissing after I didn’t make it on the lacrosse team. Other than that, we just played XBox and hung out. When did Crew become aware that you and Dillon were an item? Crew didn’t make the team either. He was at the field when… we were pretty far away from the stands but he found us. And Dillon had… taken his shirt off. To make you feel better about getting cut? He can’t use his powers with his shirt on or he’ll catch on fire. Right. Crew saw you and Dillon using fire magic? Electricity. Basically if you touch his chest it makes him light up. So he’s a lamp. He’s a lightning elemental. Of course. So you touched his… chest? And it turned him on? You said you weren’t gonna be a jerk. It’s a little hard for me to sit here and be lied to. Especially about something as ridiculous as— Hey, Sarge… What it is it? You’re gonna wanna see these security tapes. Let me finish this interview. No, seriously. You need to— López! Shut the door… …where were we? Does it matter? You won’t believe anything I say. Can Dillon do anything else with his electricity powers besides light up? Shock people. But he doesn’t do that. He doesn’t shock people. Today was different. Tell me what happened today. At lunch Crew saw Dillon being touchy with me and I guess it pissed him off. Crew was angry? More vindictive I guess. Big word for a fourteen year old. You need me to define it for you? How did Crew display his acrimonious intent? He spit Powerade on Dillon’s head. Then what? Dillon wasn’t ready for it—so it screwed with his current and his shirt caught on fire. Then? He took off his shirt and ran to get his backpack. His backpack? (continue to post 4/7…)

4/7 He took off his shirt and ran to get his backpack. His backpack? It’s fireproof and inside it there was a… thing that sucks up his electricity. To calm down his system. And did that work? Mostly. But then he found me and I took the rest of it. Took it? (continue to 5/7…)

5/7 Took it? I’m used to touching his skin and taking the electricity into my own body. I stood on his backpack so the degenerator would take some of it too. And that’s when you called Crew a… what was it? Mother f’ing shithead with a mouse dick. But no—by that time, the bell had rung. Half the kids were still in the hallways trying to get a look at Dillon. He loves to be the center of attention, so he was milking it. (continue to 6/7...)

6/7 Half the kids were still in the hallways trying to get a look at Dillon. He loves to be the center of attention, so he was milking it. Is that when you went to find Crew? Crew was watching with everyone else. I pushed through the crowd and told him he was a…what I said. You didn’t touch him? Maybe punch him? No. He put me in a headlock and pulled me into a classroom. Why didn’t he just pound you in the hall? With my superhero boyfriend twenty feet away? What happened when Crew got you in the classroom? I'm sure other people told you. The teacher heard the commotion outside. Half the class followed her into the hall. The other kids watched Crew slam my face repeatedly into a k-pop 3-ring binder. How many times is repeatedly? How the hell should I know? I was a little distracted. After cutting my face up he knelt on my neck and said he’d break my spine if I didn’t tell him how Dillon had done the zappy thing. How did you respond? I was trying to breathe. Keep talking. I guess that’s when Dillon came in. I was still out of it but I heard crackling and sparking—like a campfire on triple speed. 7/7 I guess that’s when Dillon came in. I was still out of it but I heard crackling and sparking—like a campfire on triple speed. Dillon and his taser. Dillon had control of his energy by then. I guess he’d heard me swearing while I was being dragged into the classroom. Where were all the faculty during all this? Taking a dump? I don’t know. All of a sudden I felt a jolt and when I woke up Dillon was over me doing chest compressions. But he didn’t try to save Crew? The students said he did. After I woke up. Boyfriends come first. Nah, sadistic assholes who abuse boyfriends come first. The coroner said Crew died immediately. He had a heart attack because of— I’m familiar with the findings. Finish your story. So I told Dillon to run. Because you knew he was guilty of manslaughter. Because I know how the justice system works. My dad’s an attorney. Sergeant, the chief is looking for you. Coming. What’s on this tape that I’ve got to see? Just get out here. Before you guys go… can you please just tell me if they caught Dillon? I’m gonna find out anyway. We’ll apprehend him soon enough. If you haven’t already, you won’t. He’s probably back in France by now. Did he contact you? Why do you think he’s already out of the country? Lightning elementals aren’t exactly known for their lethargy. You need me to define that? It means slow or apathetic. As opposed to incompetent which means one’s crappy at one’s job. Stupid kid. You’re the one who’s about to feel stupid. (Thanks for reading! If you liked it share and/or let me know.)
