I just pulled the trigger on our "Black Friday" purchases: Xiegu G90, DigiRig, DigiRig cables. The total came to a bit over $590 with tax, but after using my rewards points and cash back bonus points, we only paid $146.62 out of pocket! Woo-hoo!

I have adapted a couple of cables to connect my FT-817 to the Digirig. Also added a PowerPole connector that protects the barrel connection for power. I have CAT and Data working.

New radio report... I did successfully hit the RBN on 40m. Not 20 or 15. Have heard voices and CW. Tuner does tune. Hope to get the DigiRig working today. Need to try my 10/12/15/17/20m vertical out (SWR isn't great, but "tuner!"). Scared to try SSB because I might fail....

I managed to get my Digirig hooked up to my UV-K5, and after some not inconsiderable faffing, I've got APRS working via my laptop (using PinPoint and Direwolf)
Which means any of my handheld radios barring one* can be used for data modes!

Celebrating a win today, because by god I needed one.
I managed to get my Digirig hooked up to my UV-K5, and after some not inconsiderable faffing, I've got APRS working via my laptop (using PinPoint and Direwolf)
Which means any of my handheld radios barring one* can be used for data modes!

Greyline FT8 for iPad and iPhone In the second July 2026 bulletin, I wrote of Greyline FT8 - an app for iPhone and iPad for FT8. For my Icom IC-7300, I needed a Digirig Lite and Digirig cable for IC-706 to make it work.
