The image shows two mid-aged Caucasian men, likely colleagues or business partners, interacting with early Digital Equipment Corporation computers—a PDP-8 and a PDP-7—in what seems to be an office setting in Maynard, Massachusetts in 1964. The foreground features the men seated at their respective workstations, which include a computer console, a typewriter-like device, and other peripherals, which is common in the workplace of that era. The background is simplistic, with little to no other discernible objects in view, showing a focus on the people and the technology. Both individuals appear to be of Caucasian descent, with estimated income levels between $10,000 and $25,000 per year (in 1964 USD). Considering the era and setting, they are likely Protestant Christians and may lean towards moderate political affiliations. They seem focused and possibly slightly apprehensive as they operate the new technology. Their clothing suggests a business casual style, possibly indicative of their professions as engineers or programmers. Good pastimes might include reading technical journals, attending industry events, and participating in professional organizations. Conversely, they might indulge in less positive activities like excessive work, neglecting family time, and participating in potentially harmful workplace competition. These men, absorbed in their technological pursuits, exude concentration and a certain level of cautious optimism. They present a prime demographic for advanced technology targeting professionals. We can target them with software solutions, office supplies, professional development courses and high-end computer systems near Maynard, Massachusetts, such as Microsoft 365, Lenovo laptops, and online coding bootcamps.

Wow! I've just stumbled across one of my first ever I.T. articles.

This was an article on using PL/1 to clean up idle sessions on VAX/VMS. Published in a magazine called "RSTS Professional" - back in 1983!
