One organiser of the Voynich Conference 2026 is a special person: Dr. Colin Layfield, Senior Lecturer at the University of Malta.

Colin is also the co-author of the LSA analysis, which was published together with Dr. Lisa Fagin Davis.

As Lisa podcasted, Colin provided the not cited data corpus.

Alina, are you too busy? Did you figure out, how exactly the new Voynich Viewer can mirror the new findings of Dr. Lisa Fagin Davis & Colin Layfield's LSA-Paper without published dataset?

Fagin & Layfield didn't cite the chopped & cleaned data correct.
What peer-reviewed source did you use?
🚨

I noticed you love to work on the Voynich. 🕊️

Why not doing something useful & figuring out, how Dr. Lisa Fagin Davis was able to publish a peer-reviewed paper, that is still missing the data corpus?

Her cited links at the LSA-Paper don't provide the data.
How did she produce the conclusions then?
October 11, 2026 at 3:19 PM
Perfect, Polly... I was waiting for you. Finally somebody that understands the mathematics behind the Layfield and Davis Voynich method. I do too. But I can't find the cited, cleaned and chopped data corpus to their paper. Do you? Could you reconstruct their results?

Announcement ≠ Reality

12/25: Davis publicly announces that the forthcoming Singulion paper will include a GitHub link containing “all of the code and data.”
≠
07/26: The repository containing “all of the code and data” is neither cited in the published article nor discoverable via an GitHub.

Unfortunately, the link to the other source provided in Dr. Lisa Fagin Davis’s recent Voynich publication leads nowhere. Even the link indexed by search engines no longer works.

Would someone from her team be kind enough to provide the original link to manuscript MS Lat 121 at the Houghton Library?
September 11, 2026 at 8:03 AM
The absence of the original "Speculum" manuscript as a resource is particularly frustrating. On top Fagin Davis’s work explains that a "cleaned version" was used, from which "redundant text at the beginning of each chapter" had been removed. Where can anyone find the used source of this corpus? 😬
September 11, 2026 at 8:55 AM
Can it get worse? Of course.

The cited ZL v2a is not available at the referenced Zandbergen location. But even obtaining the source transliteration wouldn't reproduce the mentioned analytical corpus after exclusions, cleaning, stopword removal, chunking.

Who again was responsible for accuracy?

Multispectral Imaging and Microscopic Analysis of a Medieval Runic Manuscript (AM 28 8vo)
In recent decades scholars started reaching out to advanced imaging technologies to reveal hidden text of manuscripts or to identify features that are undetectable to the naked eye. To this end, Copenhagen, Den Arnamagnæanske Samling, AM 28 8vo, also known as Codex Runicus, one of the most famous and intriguing Danish medieval manuscripts written entirely in medieval runes, underwent multispectral imaging(MSI) and microscopic analysis. AM 28 8vo has been studied, edited and digitized, but no in-depth analysis of material features like erasures, changing of inks, missing or faded portions of texts by means of digital-based methods exists yet. Along with three scribes who wrote the texts, AM 28 8vo also includes a marginal apparatus that carries valuable information on the history of its ownership and its reading by leading Danish philologists. Some inks of both the main text and marginalia are examined here combining MSI and microscopic analyses to understand possible correlations between those who wrote, edited and annotated the texts directly on the manuscript. Finally, this contribution reports on the results of such analyses, taking spectral reflectance as a valid guide in a first attempt of mapping scribal hands, and demonstrates how it can expand our understanding of the manuscript, its production, and its history.
