This is the Meghan McCain paradox. She grew up very wealthy (from grandpa’s exclusive beer distributorship). When she had her first child, she personally experienced what every new mother does - wanting/needing to be home with her child. So, she became an advocate for family leave, but nothing else.

my adult life. My father owned an AC-Delco distributorship in Ontario. I was a GM dealership parts manager for a few years. My next vehicle will not be any American made vehicle. It will be made in Canada, Europe or Japan. Nothing with a VIN starting with 1.

Another thing is, hockey is blue-collar coded, but all that equipment is lotsa $$, so hockey players skew somewhat affluent. Blue-collar/affluent, gives a somewhat car-dealership/liquor-distributorship flavor, exerts a rightward pull on the politics
